EMPLOYMENT

Dog Walkers and Pet Sitters drive from home to home to take care of pets in their home by giving them food, exercise and TLC while the parents are away on vacation or at work. We do not board pets in our homes. We provide 20-minute visits for cats and small animals;  and 30-, 45-, and 60-minute visits for dogs.

 

We are happy to offer flexibility around your lifestyle including other jobs and higher education.  Moms can drop their kids off at school and spend some time with pets to earn some “fun money”.  Retirees may want to keep busy and give others peace of mind by taking care of their pets.

 

This is a relaxed, fun and very rewarding, stress-free job you can do a little or a lot.

 

We provide all training and support.  Just show up on time, follow the clients’ instructions for taking care of their pets and let them know by email what happened during your visit. We take care of the rest.

 

You will need to have a smartphone to access our booking software, a valid Virginia driver’s license, and a reliable vehicle.  Excellent communication skills are also a must.

 

Dog walkers must be able to walk a single dog 20 to 50 minutes at a moderate pace and have enough strength and balance to manage dogs on leash on uneven sidewalks, etc. Pet sitters must be able to clean litter boxes and replenish feeding stations so bending and lifting are a must.

We provide drop in visits as early as 7am and finish as late as 10pm, depending on the needs of our clients.

The Well-Trained Dog & Pet Care provides service 365 days a year.  

​

Applicants must be willing to work holidays, especially Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. 

 

We work alone morning, noon and night, so being comfortable working alone is a must.

House Sitters stay in our clients’ homes from 7pm to 7am to take care of their pet(s).
